BT-sized
Plywood Bulkheads Don't let your screws pull loose! |

Even low power rockets sometimes
need high-strength components. Especially where you mount the shock
cord. If you want to affix your shock cord to a bulkhead, we strongly recommend using a plywood bulkhead. It's got the strength to hold an eye screw, unlike cardstock and lighter-weight woods. Our bulkheads come with pilot holes for eye screws. Additionally, all plywood bulkheads BT-55 or larger come with a backer disk to make sure that you've got the strength to hold the bigger screw. Just glue the disk in place as you insert the screw, and all will be aligned and secure. To convert a coupler into a block for holding a shock cord, insert a coupler-sized bulkhead into the coupler. Don't mount it flush outside of the coupler. Note that due to the variations in coupler thicknesses, a little sanding may be required to make it fit. For extra strength with rear-eject rockets, use a plywood bulkhead as a surface for the engine-mount to push against, and to provide a secure point to fasten the shock cord. |
