Keep your parachute, shock cords, and recovery wadding from sliding down into a long rocket.  Instead, install a divider far enough into the rocket to hold the laundry where you want it. The dividers, also known as laundry shelves, come with attachment points for your shock cords.  If you have larger shock cords, the notch in the attachment point can easily be enlarged with a hobby knife. Note that dividers don't replace baffles. You'd still want to use recovery wadding, Nomex, or some other method to protect the recovery gear. some assembly required
